Week four, a fruitful end....

Dear all,
This course has been very astonishing for me since its beginning. Each week is a new educational start for me. Every new task adds much to my knowledge and compels me  work harder in order to learn more and more about technology. I have learnt about some very useful websites (i.e www.delicious.com etc) and many other shared by the participants during the week
Lesson planning was a new topic of the week. It definitely gave me an idea of pre-preparation of the topic. The different steps given in the plan were very useful.
I liked the articles of this week which were of great use and knowledge. I also highlighted the issues in our school in the way of computer based learning and English. New websites shared by the participants, are making our work easier.
After all, I have to say I am very lucky to be a part of the web skills course.
Regards,
Naqib

Another successful week gets ended

I am glad to say that the third week was another successful week in order to 1)learn how to create Delicious page, 2) do the readings about "The Employment of CALL in Teaching Second/Foreign Language Speaking Skills" and "Developing Listening Skills with Authentic Materials", 3) learn and share so many web links about the development of English four basic skills.
I was really searching for some useful links that could help me improve my students' learning about English and enable me develop better activities and lesson plans, and eventually www. nicenet.org on E-Teacher's site solved this issue for me and let me know about many many sites that can, no doubt, help us a lot. I am very happy after knowing about so many sites that work effectively in enhancing the degree of Listening, Reading, Speaking and writing skills. I can't express my happiness.........
The readings on oral/aural activities provided us some very good points to learn about pronunciation etc. I can use technology in my school's classrooms now and will definitely support rest of the teachers in my school to come towards the use of technology in classrooms. Since we are working on "Connecting Classroom Project", we have gone through some very useful videoconferencing that gave our students an opportunity to listen and speak to native speakers. However, the activities for improving  listening and speaking skills given at some of the sites suggested by Robert, appeared to be of great use.
I am thankful to Robert and his distinguished team members for supporting us!

End of week 2

Hello everyone!
The second week is about to end. It was great to do some reading this week. The readings provided some words to learn but the main theme was to use and learn about web searching and the ABCD method of teaching. The noodle tools helped us know about many search engines. It provided us a chance to go through the search engines, see their efficiency and decide which one worked better than the others. My selection was Bing, because it gave me more results while i was looking for MS Excel tutorial and structure of atom. Google is said to have been used by most of the people in the world, however, Bing seemed working better than Google even.
We also learnt about some other sites i.e google-vs-bing.com which was really helpful.
Our next topic was to do some reading about the ABCD method of teaching which helped us specify objectives and targets of teaching any lesson to the class. This meant to know about the students (A) and what you want them to be able of (B) and think about the condition of the circumstances given to the students (C), and finally know about the learning accuracy of the student (D). To realize what students have learnt from today's lesson, it's important to prepare a plan before going to the class.
This week's lessons were really nice and i am sure this will ever help us if we keep it in our consideration and utilize them in our teachings.
